Market Stall and Flat Objects

Image
This is an incomplete market stall.      So why flat objects in the market stall boxes? I don't know. I am unsure if I like it. But for now, I think its approprate. I will have to see how it looks like in an enviroment space. Rendered in Unreal this time. Still a little weird, but you get the idea.      I think this really invokes some interesting low-poly vibes. Its like... high-fi N64 graphics. I'm sort of down for it really. We'll see where it takes me. One of the tilesets as you can see, shown off by Chaska the Magic Dog.

Rounding the Barrel.

I have rounded the Barrel. It looks much better than it being just a cylinder.

Github?

Looks like I gotta start learning Github?

Stress at Work.

I feel stressed at work. I feel like my absent mindedness hampers my ability to properly work at the level my boss requires. I don't want to work at the Bakery anymore because my chance of failure is just too high and it fucks with me. I am sure I am doing plenty well... well enough to not get fired. But I hate how many fuck ups I can do in a single night.

Distractions and Increasing Team

I cannot blame my brother for wanting to play some Baldur's Gate III and I cannot be mad at my brother for buying me Wargroove 2. But damn... all these distractions in my life will keep me from the game. I may have to cut out some more time for game stuff. With me thinking about the game more, I feel that having another artist would do some amazing good. I just need to find one I can trust.

Music

Image
To keep myself in practice... I booted up FL studio and started just... making music. Just messing around.     I will eventually reach a point where the music aspect of the game will be taken a lot more seriously, but I need to get back into understanding FL studio again. Its a small break from the programing and art, while still remaining productive. If you want to listen to the Rocket Brigade soundtrack, I will post it below. It is hardly the best of my ability, but it was something I whipped up for that game. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQvFRGdS9s9hM2vRjVkbFFzPGhK_sgW3K&si=mWFdloAk9VajhAX3      Funny enough, the game is still playable on www.rocketbrigade.com.

Capitalism

Oh Capitalism. The strange beast. On one hand, one can view it as the natural order of things. A "market" that equalizes itself overtime through the process of survival of the fittest. On the other hand, it is the vile representation of humanity's greed and desire for wealth, or the inhumane fight for survival. It is the great innovator. Many of the comforts and advancements in our standard of living we have thanks to the glorious desire for wealth. But on the other hand, it runs rampant with corruption, hellish corporate entities dedicated to raising its own bottom line. Gambling, such as through the stock market and through even wylder means like crypto, come with winners and losers. There are many losers to ensure the winners make profit. And the game is often rigged. But how else do we represent a human's value? How else to we represent their time, effort, and ability? Capitalism provides us a means for that. But yet... automation will remove the lowest tier of pe...

Shadow "Solved"

Image
No more light bleed.      It can be solved. But no in anyway you'd think. Unreal cannot properly handle lighting with objects that have 0 thickness to them. Unfortunetly, my tiles that I had been working with in Crocotile cannot render properly when they are just "curtains" like this.     The solution? Well. I can add a retangular prism, the length of the curtain along the base of the object. I can keep it thin, and thus hidden, you can't see it. But it solves the light problem.

Lighting Issues

Image
Light going under the flat surface.     Look at this. It's another problem. Or is it? Seems like based off my research, Unreal is going to do this. Its just too thin! And unfortunetly that's just the way it is. See how the lighting has no problem when it has a "thickness"?     I imagine this could be a problem in a future if it isn't solved, especially if lighting comes from inside a source. We'll just have to see.
